We can't do this without your help!
Were you shocked when the Astro III cinema suddenly closed after thirty-seven years of business? We were too. That's why we're doing something about it. The SAVE THE ASTRO movement is working hand-in-hand with Mayor Larry Abernathy to save this Clemson landmark and transform it into something better.
Mayor Abernathy has a great dream for this theater. He hopes to bring the Astro III back to its former glory, with a modern and fresh edge. His plans include refurbishing the theater, transforming it into an all-inclusive arts center with:
- stages suitable for film and live talent (local bands, comedy, theatre)
- screenings devoted to foreign films
- screenings devoted to art films
