The Clemson Coalition for Arts Enhancement was formed in 2008 after seeing a need for a richer art scene in the Clemson area. Inspired by Clemson mayor, Larry Abernathy, the main goal of the coalition is to further the local art scene by giving opportunities to local artists, musicians, and performers to develop and showcase their talent.

At the forefront of this drive is the Astro Theater conversion, creating a venue that is not only meaningful to the community, but is versatile as a film and live theater space.
